Morocco’s King Calls for Support of Moroccan Talent Abroad to Boost Development

King Mohammed VI called for "the creation of a mechanism to support and assist Moroccan skills and talents abroad, to support their initiatives and projects." The king’s message takes into account Moroccans scattered around the world, including Moroccan Jews.
For the Sovereign, this mechanism "will ultimately make it possible to better know the profiles, to interact permanently with them and thus to present them with the assets available to their country in the sectors related to the development and investment process." This is why he invites public institutions and the national finance and business sector to best support investors among the community members, by putting in place effective sponsorship, support and partnership mechanisms. Morocco needs "all its children and all the skills established abroad."
For the king, administrative slowness remains a real obstacle and the authorities at various levels must work to put an end to it. "The time has come to provide this community with the necessary framework as well as the means and conditions for it to give the best of itself, in the well-understood interest of its country and its development."
The Moroccan community abroad is estimated at some five million individuals, to which are added hundreds of thousands of Moroccan Jews abroad, settled in all four corners of the world.
