Today, Morocco wants to discuss the contentious issues, in particular the Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara and the status of Ceuta and Melilla. "With all sincerity and trust, we aspire to continue to work with the Spanish government and with its president, His Excellency, Pedro Sánchez, in order to open a new era in relations between the two countries, based on trust, transparency, mutual respect and respect for commitments," said the Moroccan monarch.

For Morocco and its king, the objective is not only to get out of this crisis, "but to seize this opportunity to review the ins and outs of relations" with Spain. "We are trying today to consolidate them through a common understanding of the interests of the two countries," added Mohammed VI.
