Morocco’s Judiciary Council Sanctions 13 Judges, Acquits 2 After Disciplinary Review

The Supreme Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ) has issued disciplinary measures against 15 judges referred to the council. This is a decision taken after analysis and study of several files concerning them.
After a thorough and comprehensive examination of the reports and documents contained in the files and after listening to the judges concerned, the CSPJ decided to acquit two judges and take disciplinary sanctions against 13 others. These include warnings, reprimands, transfers, one-month provisional suspensions with transfer, and dismissals.
The imposition of disciplinary measures against these 15 judges came after exhausting all disciplinary procedures, the CSPJ said in a statement. It assures that it has acted in full respect of the legal guarantees, while taking into account the approach of supervision adopted as a working method by the Council.
