Morocco to Join Abraham Accords Anniversary Summit with Israel, UAE, and Bahrain

Morocco is expected in the coming months in the United Arab Emirates or Bahrain where it will participate in the first anniversary of the Abraham Accords. The kingdom normalized its relations with Israel in December 2020.
Morocco is invited to the celebrations of the first anniversary of the Abraham Accords alongside Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, reports Maghreb Intelligence. These celebrations will be held in the next three months, in the form of a multi-party summit, it is specified. Bahrain and the Emirates had signed these agreements with Israel in September 2020.
Morocco had normalized its diplomatic relations with the Hebrew state in December 2020 in exchange for the American recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara. Since then, the two parties have been working to warm up their relations. The Hebrew state has reopened its representation in Morocco 20 years after its closure. David Govrin, ambassador of Israel in Egypt between 2016 and 2020, is the Israeli chargé d’affaires. For its part, Morocco plans to transform its liaison office in Tel Aviv into an embassy. The building has been completely renovated. It only remains to be inaugurated.
