Morocco-Israel Ties Spark Joy Among Moroccan Jewish Community

The Jewish community in Morocco describes the normalization with Israel as a "positive act". Some are eager to spend the weekend in Tel Aviv.
"There are people who don’t even know what a Jew is, young people, etc., but we have been here in Morocco, in the culture for thousands of years. So this coexistence is quite exceptional. So yes, to normalize relations, it is positive," explains to AFP Kévin Fhal, manager of the kosher pastry shop "Madame Fhal".
According to him, this positive act is beneficial both for the Jewish community in Morocco and for Moroccans as a whole. "I think there will indeed be a positive impact for everyone, not just for Moroccan Jews, but also for Moroccans. I personally know dozens of Moroccan Muslims who dream of going to Israel and because of complications they don’t go, but they would love to visit, etc. Obviously, we refer a bit to social networks. I see people saying: ’Wow, we’re going to spend the weekend in Tel Aviv, it’s great.’"
