Morocco-Israel Ties Deepen with New Agreements, Sidelining BDS Movement

Seven months after the normalization of their relations, Morocco and Israel are moving the lines. In Rabat, the two parties have signed three new agreements aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the political, cultural, youth and sports, and air services fields, marginalizing BDS Morocco.
While BDS Morocco has always opposed the rapprochement between Morocco and Israel, the two countries are strengthening their relations. During the historic working visit of the Israeli Minister of the Hebrew State, three new agreements aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the political, cultural, youth and sports, and air services fields were signed between Yaïr Lapid and Nasser Bourita. The two countries, "convinced that efficient bilateral cooperation in the fields of culture, youth and sports will contribute to the strengthening of their relations and the development of mutually beneficial links," have decided to develop cooperation in this area.
An act that will not please the Moroccan branch of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions. BDS Morocco is known for its boycott operations in these areas. In addition, the organization’s leaders have repeatedly expressed their opposition to the normalization of relations between the two countries. But Morocco continues to play the card of firmness, with several interests at stake. In the face of all odds, the kingdom is drawing closer to Israel.
