Morocco-Israel Normalization Promises Economic Boost, Expert Says

The resumption of economic relations with Israel can have extremely interesting fallout for Morocco, believes Carmine Mandola, investment consultant and expert in economic intelligence, also former CEO of Coface Africa.
In a free tribune published by Finances News Hebdo, the consultant recalls the concrete actions that were taken in the aftermath of the agreement to normalize diplomatic relations between Morocco and Israel. "On Tuesday, December 22, the plane of the Israeli company ’El Al’ landed in Rabat, marking the first act of the restoration of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Israel. Relations between the two countries will open up promising economic prospects for the kingdom," M. Mandola is convinced.
The consultant highlights the potential of the Hebrew state. He points out that Israel is known to be at the forefront of innovation in various fields. "It also has the largest number of start-ups per capita (6,000 start-ups, or one for every 1,500 inhabitants), and devotes 4.5% of its GDP to research and development each year," he says. He cites its best-known areas of expertise: computing, biotechnology, agriculture, pharmaceuticals and medical and chemical instruments.
"I believe that the resumption of economic relations can have extremely interesting fallout for Morocco, which will obviously benefit from the Israeli expertise on the one hand, but on the other hand, will be able to showcase its expertise in several areas," affirms the one who has personally lived in Israel for five years, and also resided in Morocco as CEO of Coface Africa. He says he is a witness to the special bond that unites the two countries. A bond, which according to him, is largely based on this Moroccan Jewish community with which the kingdom has never broken its ties.
