Morocco Invests 110 Million Dirhams in New Leather Industry Zone Near Casablanca

The leather industry in Morocco will be equipped with a new industrial zone, in the Casablanca-Settat region, worth 110 million dirhams.
Spread over an area of 10 hectares, the project, named "Ahl Loghlam", and whose overall budget is estimated at 110 million dirhams, will require 18 months of development work, and will start in the second half of 2019.
The result of an agreement signed on April 15 between the Wilaya of the Casablanca-Settat region, the Casablanca-Settat region, the prefecture of the Sidi Bernoussi districts, the Moroccan Federation of the Leather Industry, and the real estate group Al Omrane, the new industrial zone will be divided into 93 lots ranging from 500 to 1021 m2, dedicated to leather industrialists, with, however, the possibility of integrating companies from other sectors.
According to data from the Moroccan Ministry of Industry, Investment, Trade and Digital Industry, the export sales volume of the leather industry amounts to 3.9 billion dirhams, generated by a group of 300 companies, with a total turnover of 4.7 billion dirhams, and employing 21,000 people.
