Morocco Investigates Deaths of Two French Residents Shot by Algerian Coast Guard

Morocco has opened an investigation following the death of two Moroccans residing in France killed by Algerian coast guards near Saïdia, near the Algerian border.
A 28-year-old man residing in France is said to have been fatally shot by fire from Algerian territory while riding a jet ski near the coastal town of Saidia, on the Algero-Moroccan border. He was part of a group of five Moroccan citizens, all residing in France, who were engaged in this water activity in the area. This is also the case for a Moroccan in his forties.
Following this incident, the body of the young father of two children, carried away by the currents, was found in Moroccan waters and is currently in the morgue in Berkane, near Saidia. His injuries appear to indicate a gunshot wound.
Among the five people involved in this incident, two of them, upon returning to Morocco, reported having been targeted from Algerian soil without warning. Another is currently in the hands of the Algerian authorities, although his state of health remains unknown for the moment.
