Morocco Introduces Electric Vehicles to Government Fleet in Green Economy Push

Is this a turning point in Morocco in terms of the environment or just a communication stunt by the Government? The first electric cars have just made their entry into the administration...
This is what the Secretary of State for Sustainable Development, Nezha El Ouafi, has just announced. "The use of electric cars is accompanied by a host of other decisions aimed at introducing Morocco into the green economy," the Minister declares to the 2m channel.
The Head of Government, Saadeddine El Othmani, agrees, stating that "air quality is being monitored by a laboratory and regional commissions. Programs have been initiated to combat air pollution," he said.
2m recalls that the Kingdom has committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 17% within ten years. Energy efficiency in the economic sectors will allow Morocco to save 20% of its energy consumption by 2030.
It should be noted that the Kingdom has also invested heavily in renewable energy in recent years. By 2030, it plans to produce 4500 MW in solar energy, 4200 MW in wind energy and 1300 MW in hydroelectric energy.
