Morocco to Introduce Housing Assistance Program in 2023 Budget

The government plans to introduce housing assistance in the 2023 budget for eligible buyers.
According to a note from the Ministry of Finance, this measure comes as a break with the previous system focused on tax expenditures and the provision of land, whose provisions expired at the end of the 2020 fiscal year.
Concretely, the new text includes several incentive measures consisting mainly of the granting of tax exemptions and the mobilization of land, in order to encourage real estate developers to adhere to the three housing programs.
The objective is to maintain the momentum and dynamism of the sector given its importance on the economic and social level, the same source specifies, noting that despite the undeniable positive impact of this previous system, the evaluations have demonstrated its limit.
