Morocco Resumes Intercity Funeral Transport as COVID-19 Restrictions Ease

The gradual deconfinement continues in Morocco. Funeral transport between cities, prohibited during the state of health emergency, is authorized again.
Before the First Chamber of Parliament, Abdelouafi Laftit, Minister of the Interior, announced that this decision will come into effect as of this Monday, June 15, 2020.
Henceforth, any person who has died in a city or region other than their place of residence can be transported to be buried in the cemetery of their city of origin. This measure does not take into account people who have died from coronavirus.
The possibility of transporting remains from one city to another had initially been subject to authorization and then prohibited, as part of the measures taken by the authorities to curb the spread of Covid-19 in Morocco.
