Morocco Installs Thermal Camera at Busy Border Crossing to Screen for Coronavirus

The Moroccan authorities installed a thermal camera at the Bab Sebta border post on Tuesday, March 3, 2019.
Morocco is striving to strengthen its monitoring and response system to prevent further cases of coronavirus contamination. Committed to this, the authorities installed a thermal camera at Bab Sebta on Tuesday, a crossing point through which hundreds of people transit every day.
Like the similar cameras installed at the land, sea and airport borders of the kingdom, this camera measures the temperature of the users of this border post.
On Monday, the health authorities confirmed a first case of coronavirus. It is a 39-year-old Moroccan, coming from Bergamo in Italy. He was diagnosed positive by the Pasteur-Morocco Institute.
