Morocco to Install 2,500 EV Charging Stations by 2026, Boosting Electric Car Market

Morocco is working to become an attractive sales market for electric vehicles. The Inter-Sectoral Professional Association for Electric Mobility (APIME) made up of companies in the electricity and automotive sectors will install 2,500 new charging stations by 2026.
2,500 new charging stations by 2026. This is what the Inter-Sectoral Professional Association for Electric Mobility (APIME) plans to deploy in the main Moroccan cities, particularly Casablanca, Tangier and Rabat, in order to promote the massive import of electric cars. The idea is to make Morocco an exemplary country in terms of green mobility in Africa, says Omar Magoul, director of Interworld Africa, to Afrik21. "As a result, the share of electric vehicles imported into Morocco will increase. This means that car importers must adapt to the trend and the increased demand for green mobility and energy," he explained.
