Morocco Hosts 16 World Cup Qualifier Matches for 7 African Nations

Morocco has become the preferred destination for African football, especially in the context of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Seven countries have requested Morocco to host matches counting towards the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
In total, 16 matches will be played in Moroccan stadiums. Seven African teams such as Guinea-Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Mali, Burkina Faso, Sudan, Djibouti and Mozambique have played their matches in Morocco, reports the daily Assabah. The stadiums of these countries are under renovation or are not yet compliant with CAF and FIFA standards.
The relocation of these matches to Morocco was done without much difficulty thanks to the signing of an agreement with 44 African federations. Other countries have also been asked to host certain matches, but they were unable to give a favorable response. Egypt said no, while South Africa agreed to host the matches of geographically close countries, such as Namibia and Malawi.
Thus, according to the program established to host these relocated matches, Guinea will face Sudan at the Moulay Abdellah Complex in Rabat, while Djibouti has already crossed paths with Burkina Faso in a double confrontation at the Grand Stadium in Marrakech. Mali faces Kenya in Agadir, and Cameroon will face Mozambique in Tangier.
The solicitation of Moroccan stadiums is making so much noise that "Canal+" has devoted a report to it, in which the encrypted channel emphasizes that Morocco is taking advantage of its sports infrastructure to become the African football "hub".
