Morocco’s Highways See Record Summer Traffic as Pass Jawaz Sales Soar

Wednesday 4 September 2019, by Bladi.net

For the summer season, the company, Autoroutes du Maroc (ADM), has achieved significant successes at all levels. The record figure of 550,000 vehicles per day, or 1.65 million people who used the network daily, is mentioned.

Traffic has increased by 6%. "The multiplication of sales outlets facilitating the acquisition of the Pass Jawaz and the attractive offer of a 50 DH package including 40 DH of toll balance recharge have made this promotion a considerable success," said one of the ADM officials.

For the summer season, Pass Jawaz sales have thus seen a growth of 195%, i.e. a total of 750,000 compared to 400,000 in 2018 and 40% of customer-users have used the pass during peak hours, details the same newspaper.

Moreover, if the extension of the electronic toll lanes of the main toll booths, as well as the security system put in place have made it possible to obtain better traffic fluidity during this summer season, it should also be noted that the number of subscribers to the ADM application has jumped by 27% to reach more than 100,000 people today.

Even Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) were not left out. Indeed, "MRE users have also benefited from specific actions including the opening of the Ksar Sghir rest area. They also took advantage of the presence of a reception and assistance system and the acquisition of the Pass Jawaz at the Port of Tanger Med," notes Autoroutes du Maroc.
