Morocco to Test Free-Flow Highway Tolling System, Promising Smoother Travel

Free-flow tolling will soon be tested on Moroccan highways. The Moroccan Motorway Company (ADM) has announced that preparations are underway to launch the first phase.
Good news for highway users in Morocco. They could be spared stops and slowdowns at toll booths if they have the Jawaz tag. This will be through free flow, which is a toll collection mode that involves having gantries equipped with cameras along the routes. They allow reading license plates and detecting badges similar to those of Jawaz, according to La vie éco.
Several countries in the world are already experimenting with this toll collection mode where payment can be made in different ways. Even if ADM has not yet communicated on the technical solutions to be deployed, it has hinted that the pilot phase will be launched on the Rabat-Casablanca axis.
The transition to free flow is inevitable because "customers who hold Jawaz badges have become more and more demanding. They think that reducing their speed to 20 km/h is a waste of time," the same source stressed.
