Morocco’s High-Speed Train Sees 19% Passenger Surge, Minister Reports

Success for the Moroccan high-speed line (LGV), if we are to believe the figures that have just been unveiled by the Minister of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water.
According to Abdelkader Amara, more than 200,000 passengers used the Al Boraq high-speed train last month, compared to 168,000 travelers in December, an increase of 19%, with an occupancy rate of 70%. The minister was responding to a question asked in parliament by the constitutional group.
These figures should see strong growth in the coming months with the delivery of new cars "in order to ensure the Kénitra-Rabat and Rabat-Casablanca routes," Amara said.
Inaugurated in December by King Mohammed VI and French President Emmanuel Macron, this TGV line required an investment of more than 23 billion dirhams and in the long term, it should move towards the south of the country, starting with Marrakech.
