Morocco Halts Fish Supplies to Spanish Enclave Sebta, Sparking Food Concerns

Merchants in the enclave of Sebta are concerned about the alleged scarcity of fish. According to them, the Moroccan authorities would be responsible for this situation.
The Sebta market, which is usually teeming with people, had become sparse on Monday morning due to the lack of fish from Morocco in the fish shops, reports the local site El Pueblo de Ceuta.
Faced with this situation, the fish vendors on site did not fail to express their dismay. "All the fish we eat here in Sebta come from Morocco. This is becoming a problem. If there are no fish, you will tell me then what we can eat," questions one of them.
In reality, according to well-informed sources, this blockage is due "to the controls of the Moroccan authorities; which delayed the arrival of the fish." Finally, the situation will be unblocked around 11 a.m., with the arrival of some shipments. A delay that has sparked lively controversy, insofar as the enclave could not, on its own, be self-sufficient and cope with the situation.
