Tuesday 9 July 2019, by Bladi.net

Sad and saddened by the painful elimination of his team by Benin, Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi has apologized for Morocco’s short adventure at CAN 2019.

On his Instagram page, the Moroccan international, who plays for Borussia Dortmund, announced the pain of the entire team after its early exit from CAN 2019.

Describing the elimination as a "black exit from the narrow door of the CAN", with a drawing to support it, Hakimi indicates the attitude to be adopted now. For him, the team must learn from its mistakes and come back stronger for the future. He did not fail to thank the many fans of the Moroccan national team for their unwavering support.

Apart from the previous edition where it reached the quarter-finals, Morocco has not gone beyond the second round of the CAN since its qualification in 2004 for the final, with Moroccan coach Badou Zaki.
