Morocco’s Hakimi and Ziyech Nominated for African Player of the Year Award

Two Moroccan internationals, Achraf Hakimi and Hakim Ziyech are nominated for the title of African Player of the Year as part of the 2019 CAF Awards. To these two players are added two locals and a former coach of the Renaissance sportive de Berkane.
This awards ceremony scheduled for January 7, 2020 in Hurghada, Egypt honors the best African players of the year. Several African talents have already received these awards in the past, including Mohamed Salah of Egypt, who was awarded the "African Player of the Year" prize in 2018.
This year, the Ajax Amsterdam player, Hakim Ziyech and the right-back of Borussia Dortmund, Achraf Hakimi are nominated in the same category: "African Player of the Year". According to Huffpost, the Dortmund whirlwind is also nominated in the "Rookie of the Year" category, an accolade he was awarded last year.
Two other players are in the "African Interclub Player of the Year" category, namely the Wydad of Casablanca players: Walid El Karti and Ismail El Haddad.
A former coach of the Renaissance Sportive de Berkane is the only Moroccan representative in the "Coach of the Year" category. The latter had led the orange club to the final of the 2018-2019 CAF Cup, the same media specifies.
