Morocco’s El Haddadi May Replace Injured Harit in World Cup Squad

Munir El Haddadi may have a chance to fulfill his "dream" of participating in the 2022 World Cup with the Moroccan team. Coach Walid Regragui could call on him after the announcement of Amine Harit’s injury.
Excluded from the list of 26 players selected to represent Morocco at the World Cup in Qatar, Munir El Haddadi could have a second chance. The Moroccan striker from Getafe FC could be called up by national coach Walid Regragui to replace Amine Harit (Olympique de Marseille), who is suffering from a sprained left knee ligament.
The former Seville player, who was a Spanish international, has moved heaven and earth to be able to play for Morocco, his country of origin. He managed to have the FIFA regulations amended to allow him to wear the Moroccan colors. Munir has always dreamed of participating in a World Cup with Morocco. "Qatar is waiting for us," he wrote on his Instagram account on March 30, after the qualification of the Atlas Lions for the World Cup.
Amine Harit’s injury announced on Monday could be an opportunity for him to realize his dream. Munir has already wished Harit a speedy recovery. He is in a good position on the small list of substitutes published in parallel with the bad news of Amine Harit’s injury. The playmaker of Olympique de Marseille was injured on Sunday during the match against Monaco.
