Morocco’s Futsal Team Named World’s Best for 2023, Surpassing Brazil and Portugal

Following a poll, the specialized website Futsalplanet designates the Moroccan futsal team as the best team of the 2023 season ahead of the best teams in the world, such as Brazil, Spain, Portugal or Argentina. It owes this recognition to its exploits: it has been unbeaten for two years (a record of 50 matches without defeat). With three titles won in the African Cup and several Arab Cups, the national team is also among the most titled on the African continent.

Currently, the Futsal Lions are preparing for the 2024 World Cup. They imposed themselves against Poland in a double confrontation in a friendly match at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmora: a score of 4-3 in the first match played last Thursday and a score of 3-1 in the second match on Saturday. After Poland, they will cross swords with Spain. The men of Hicham Dguig will try to defeat the second team in the FIFA ranking, which develops a game similar to that of Portugal, the main opponent of Morocco during the group stage of the World Cup. The double confrontation will take place on August 12 and 14.
