Morocco’s Futsal Team Eliminated from World Cup, Apologizes to Fans After Brazil Loss

After their defeat against Brazil (3-1) in the quarterfinals of the Futsal World Cup, on Sunday, September 29 in Bukhara (Uzbekistan), the Atlas Lions of Morocco sent an emotional message to Moroccan supporters.
While they were hoping to reach the semifinals and compete for the coveted title, the Atlas Lions lost to Brazil, five-time champions in its history (1989, 1992, 1996, 2008, 2012). A bitter defeat for the men of Hicham Dguig. "We apologize to the Moroccan public. We gave everything we could. Today, it is clear that the absence of the injured players was felt. We managed to keep up with the pace of the Brazilian team, but we could not respond to their many goals. I hope the supporters will forgive us, we gave everything," said Soufiane El Mesrar.
Anas Al Ayyanne also expresses regrets: "We thank the Moroccan supporters and ask them to forgive us. Today, we faced the greatest challenge of our lives, but fate decided otherwise. We were the best in the match and played better than the Brazilian team, but luck was not on our side. Now we are turning to the next World Cup."
Soufiane Charraoui acknowledges the supremacy of Brazil, imperial since the start of the Futsal World Cup. "Brazil is the best team in the world, and we worked on everything we needed. All the players gave their best and played at 100% of their abilities," he stressed, promising that his teammates and he will continue to work.
