Morocco’s Former Coach Renard Backs Atlas Lions in World Cup Semi-Final Against France

Hervé Renard, former coach of the Atlas Lions, has lent his support to Morocco in the semi-final match against France being played tonight.
Between his country of the heart and his country of birth, the current coach of Saudi Arabia seems to make his choice. He made it known during an interview on RMC, declaring: "I am French, I have a French passport, but I will support Morocco."
To justify this choice, Hervé Renard referred to his time with the national team and the experience with the Moroccan people. "I had a fantastic adventure with a group of players in a country that loves football," he affirmed.
And to add: "this country has marked me, the people have brought me love to a point that you cannot even imagine. It is often what happens in these countries: either they hate you, or they adore you. I have received so many things that I share their joy today while remaining in the background because I simply had the chance to work with them. I wish them the best in the world."
The Frenchman continued, indicating that "today, I think the earth is trembling in Morocco so much they are proud and so much they deserve it. There is such a passion, which can sometimes be excessive, that today it is an exceptional reward."
