Morocco Football Federation Seeks Resolution in Coach-Player Dispute Ahead of World Cup

The president of the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has decided to settle once and for all the disagreement between Vahid Halilhodzic and the two players (Hakim Ziyech and Noussair Mazraoui) who refused to join the national team as long as the coach is there.
Are we heading towards the settlement of the conflict between the coach of the Atlas Lions and some of his players. Fouzi Lekjaa has planned a meeting between the protagonists for the return of peace in the den of the Lions. This meeting is crucial and the resolutions that will emerge from it depend on whether the coach will remain in his post or not. Despite his work that allowed Morocco to qualify for the 2022 World Cup, Vahid Halilhodzic could be fired if he does not review his position concerning Ziyech and Mazraoui.
When questioned on the subject, the president of the FRMF, Fouzi Lekjaa, preferred to maintain the suspense. "When the time comes, the decision will be made," he said. A statement that has only fueled rumors about a probable departure of the coach. Foot Mercato reveals that the fate of the 69-year-old technician depends on a final meeting, and that his chances of participating in the World Cup with Morocco are very slim.
Since his appointment as coach of the Atlas Lions, Vahid Halilhodzic has been able to collect 18 wins, 7 draws, 2 losses, an elimination in the quarter-finals of the CAN and a qualification for the 2022 World Cup. Even with this result, it would be difficult for the FMRF to renew the contract of the latter if he does not manage to give of himself to appease the current tensions. Names such as Claude Puel, Rudi Garcia and Laurent Blanc are already circulating as potential replacements for coach Vahid.
