Morocco’s Fnideq Economic Zone Construction Reaches 50% Completion

The construction work on the new Fnideq Economic Activity Zone (ZAEF) is progressing normally and according to the planned schedule, according to a note from the Agency for the Promotion of the Northern Provinces (APDN).
The work to be carried out for this first phase on the 10 ha site concerns earthworks, roads, drainage, public lighting and electricity. The physical execution rate has already reached 50% and the first warehouses will be available before the end of the summer of 2021. At a cost of 200 million DH, the project is supervised by the APDN and the Tanger Méditerranée Special Agency (TMSA) and aims to ultimately build 33 warehouses of 365 to 1,000 m², modular according to the needs of investors.
In recent months, several industrial units have already settled in the prefecture of M’diq-Fnideq, pending the operationalization of the Zone. As of Wednesday, April 22, more than 1,200 people, mostly female mules, have already been recruited on this project which will ultimately create 5,000 stable direct jobs, according to the APDN.
This project is part of the measures taken by the authorities to stimulate economic growth in the prefecture of M’diq-Fnideq.
