Morocco’s First Homegrown Automaker Neo Motors Begins Selling Vehicles

NEO vehicles are now being marketed to the general public. On Friday, NEO MOTORS officially and symbolically handed over the first NEO vehicles to their owners at its headquarters in Ain Aouda, in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region. In a press release, the NEO manufacturer specifies that this historic step for the Moroccan automotive industry and for it officially marks the launch of the marketing of NEO vehicles to the general public. On this occasion, NEO Motors, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the OFPPT signed an agreement to support the evolution and development of the company’s skills, through the preparation and training of qualified human resources, in line with the expressed needs.

Furthermore, agreements have been signed with key partners, offering significant benefits to encourage the mobility of young entrepreneurs who want to acquire the NEO. Thus, the Crédit Agricole du Maroc (CAM) and the financing organizations Sofac, Maghrebail and Maroc Leasing offer preferential conditions to young entrepreneurs. The agreement concluded with Speedy Maroc, for its part, makes it possible to offer proximity maintenance services, in accordance with the manufacturer’s standards.

In May, King Mohammed VI had chaired, at the Royal Palace in Rabat, the ceremony for the presentation of the model of the car of the first Moroccan manufacturer Neo, an innovative project that would strengthen the promotion of the "Made In Morocco" label and consolidate the Kingdom’s position as a competitive automotive production platform. Speaking on the occasion of the launch of the marketing of the NEO vehicle, Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade, welcomed the delivery of the first vehicles of this Moroccan brand. "We proudly celebrate the delivery of the first vehicles of the Moroccan brand Neo. This project is in line with the Royal Directives aimed at directing the private sector towards productive investments, particularly in cutting-edge sectors, and stimulating the emergence of a new generation of companies in Morocco. This also testifies to the confidence we have in Moroccan skills and our willingness to support them to make them models of success."

This event was also marked by the inauguration by NEO Motors of the launch of the extension work of its factory. This reveals new ambitions to increase its installed capacity and develop new vehicle ranges.
