Morocco’s First Female Surgeon, Dr. Fadma Abi, Dies from COVID-19

The Moroccan medical and scientific community has just lost one of its most influential members. Dr. Fadma Abi, the first Moroccan woman to have practiced the profession of surgeon, died after being infected with the coronavirus.
Dr. Fadma Abi, whom the Moroccan and international medical world mourns, was a surgeon at the Casablanca University Hospital where she left indelible traces of her generosity, humanism and dedication to the well-being of her patients.
The deceased was also part of the teaching staff of the Faculty of Medicine in Casablanca. She was the driving force behind the professional careers of many surgeons, who, upon hearing of her death, rushed to social media to pay tribute to an exemplary woman and a talented surgeon.
