Morocco’s Fayçal Fajr Tests Positive for COVID-19, Out of AFCON Match Against Malawi

Morocco will have to face Malawi without the national team midfielder Fayçal Fajr, the only positive case of Covid-19 within the Moroccan team.
According to the medical protocol put in place by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as part of this edition of the CAN, the players must undergo a screening test before each match.
Thus, for the match between Morocco and Malawi, the screening test carried out revealed only one positive case within the national A team. "These tests proved negative except for that of Fayçal Fajr who was subjected to the applicable medical protocol after his positive test," the FRMF points out.
Regarding Achraf Hakimi who has been doing individual training at the hotel, the MAP specifies that the PSG player is not contaminated by Covid-19. On Sunday in Yaoundé, Vahid Halilhodzic’s men had a training session, the penultimate before the much-anticipated match against Malawi on Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the Ahmadou-Ahidjo stadium. The pre-match press conference is scheduled for Monday, as is the last training session.
