Morocco Falls Out of Top 15 Fruit and Vegetable Exporters to Russia

Moroccan exports of fruits and vegetables to the Russian Federation have declined to the point that Morocco is completely out of the top 15 exporters to Vladimir Putin’s country.
While it had approached $300 million (nearly 3 billion dirhams) in 2019, Morocco is no longer among the top 15 exporters to the country of the Tsars in horticultural products. Its revenues are largely below the $100 million (nearly 1 billion dirhams) mark, according to statistics recently published by EastFruit. It remains to be seen whether Morocco has followed the Western call to trade less with Russia.
Turkey, China and Ecuador are at the top of the ranking of exporters of fruits and vegetables to Russia. Only these countries have achieved a business volume of more than $500 million (nearly 5 billion dirhams) with the country of the Tsars. Egypt and South Africa are the only African countries in this ranking. They more or less maintain their positions, ranking sixth with sales of $400 million and ninth with nearly $300 million, respectively. Lithuania and Georgia complete the top 15.
