Morocco Faces Tough Test Against USA in Olympic Soccer Quarterfinal

The Atlas Lions are at a turning point in their Olympic journey. After dominating the group stage, the Moroccan team finds itself facing a heavyweight opponent, the United States, this Friday at the Parc des Princes. A match that promises to be very difficult.
Hicham Remram, sports analyst, interviewed by Al3omk, believes that Morocco’s chances of qualifying for the semi-finals are real. "The team was able to quickly get back into the competition and showed against Iraq that it was present at the Olympic Games to compete in the advanced stages, thus confirming its merit to qualify at the top of its group," he points out. Nevertheless, he tempers his optimism by recalling the defeat against Ukraine and the tactical errors made at the beginning of the tournament. The American team is experienced and will not come as tourists.
Morocco will therefore have to be solid defensively and efficient offensively to hope to create the feat. "In the second round, the competition takes on a particular character unrelated to the first round, the latter depending on the points and the second round being played on direct elimination," continues Remram. "The United States has a formidable attacking trio, but our players have the qualities to counter them."
The two teams arrive at this stage of the competition with high ambitions. For Morocco, it is a question of continuing on its momentum and marking the history of national football. The United States, on the other hand, is seeking to reconnect with past successes and make a place among the best teams in the tournament.
