Morocco Faces Pressure to Repatriate Hundreds of ISIS-Linked Women and Children

Morocco must consider making a decision on the repatriation of the many Moroccan women from the terrorist organization Daesh, held in Turkey and Syria. The families of these detainees are calling on the Moroccan authorities to speed up the procedure for the return to the homeland of these women who "would no longer pose any danger".
For the coordination of the families of Moroccans in Syria and Iraq, after repatriation, the State must ensure "to guarantee them a fair trial". For their part, the Moroccan authorities point out that "280 Moroccan women and 391 children are in the conflict zones of the Middle East", while Turkey has indicated that it holds many Moroccan women from the Islamic State who have fled the conflict zones.
According to article 19.ma, "the Moroccan women of Daesh aspire to have measures taken to ensure their social integration and rehabilitation, as well as their psychological and health support, and especially for their children to be integrated into the school system and to obtain the necessary administrative documents".
All eyes are on the authorities who are slow to make "a repatriation decision". For its part, the Kurdish administration is in contact with European countries, including Germany, to repatriate its nationals, while some countries, such as France, are likely to only repatriate the orphaned children of jihadists.
The Kurds are calling for the creation of a special international court to try detainees in Syria.
