Morocco Faces Pressure to Drop PCR Test Requirement for Tourists and Expats

In order to support tourism professionals, several political actors are intensifying pressure on the government to ease entry conditions into Morocco, in particular the lifting of the PCR test requirement.
This time it is the parliamentarians of the National Union of Labor in Morocco (UNTM) as well as the political bureau of the PPS who have called during a session at the House of Advisors to cancel the obligation to present a PCR test to enter the national territory, reports Al Massae.
According to MPs Khalid Setti and Loubna Alaoui (UNTM), maintaining the obligation to present a PCR test will cause additional inconvenience to Moroccans living abroad and tourists wishing to visit Morocco.
The two deputies say they are joining the many voices that have been raised against the maintenance of the restrictive measures and are calling for their relaxation or cancellation, given that the health situation has clearly improved.
For its part, the political bureau of the PPS called on the government to ease or cancel the conditions of access to Moroccan territory as long as the health situation allows it, in order to facilitate the movement of Moroccans living abroad and revive the national economy.
