Morocco Faces Challenges in Repatriating Citizens Stranded Abroad

The emergency meeting of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, National Defense, Islamic Affairs and Moroccans Residing Abroad at the House of Representatives to decide on the repatriation of Moroccans stranded abroad was unsuccessful.
This much-anticipated meeting was more than disappointing. During this meeting, the absence of the minister was strongly criticized by the participants. No solution, no date was communicated or decided by the commission.
The participants also criticized the malfunctions and the lack of decisions for the repatriation of compatriots abroad, in particular the two contradictory figures put forward on the one hand by Fouad Yazourh, ambassador and director general of bilateral relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during a live with YouTuber Mustapha Swinga (18,055) and on the other hand by the Head of Government, Saad Eddine El Othmani before the deputies of the first chamber (7,500).
Also, the members criticized the lack of "official communication, or glimmer of hope, leaving these Moroccans in doubt and anguish". In parliament, the deputies also mentioned the delicate situation of many Moroccan students abroad and the impossible repatriation of remains, a source of great controversy.
