Morocco to Face Kenya in U-20 Africa Cup of Nations Opener
Morocco is among the 13 countries participating in the 24th Africa U-20 Cup of Nations (CAN U20), which takes place from April 27 to May 18, 2025 in Egypt. When and on which channels to watch the Atlas Lions cubs?
The competition began on Sunday, April 27, with the opening match between Egypt and South Africa, resulting in a victory for the host country (1-0). Placed in Group B alongside Nigeria, Tunisia, and Kenya, Morocco will start its CAN on Thursday, May 1 at 7 PM, Moroccan time (GMT+1). The Atlas Lions cubs will face Kenya. Afterward, they will challenge Nigeria on May 4 and Tunisia on May 7.
For its seventh participation in this tournament, Morocco intends to win the continental title. "We are here to win. No matter who we face and where we play," declared Mohamed Ouahbi, the Moroccan team’s coach, at the beginning of the week. The Atlas Lions cubs had finished third in 1987 and fourth in 2005.
The matches can be watched live on the official CAF YouTube channel, CAF TV, beIN Sport, Time Sports, and Canal+. The top four teams of the tournament will automatically qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup scheduled in Chile from September 27 to October 19, 2025.
