Morocco Extends Vehicle Import Permits for Diaspora Until End of 2022

As part of the Marhaba Operation, the Moroccan Customs Administration has extended the validity of temporary admission (TA) licenses or "Green Cards" until December 31, 2022.
The measure takes into account all vehicles whose temporary admission licenses have expired since the beginning of the health crisis in 2020. The extension until December 31, 2022 of these "green cards" is automatic, indicates the Customs Administration in a circular.
The persons concerned are requested to approach the customs office or agent of their choice to return the old "green card" and retrieve the new one, the note specifies, stressing that a duplicate of this document can be issued to persons who have lost it, upon presentation of an affidavit of loss, signed by the cardholder, without the need to present a declaration of loss or theft issued by the competent authorities.

Furthermore, Moroccan customs has authorized Moroccans residing abroad to import, for the needs of their stay in Morocco, their personal effects and personal items such as jewelry, portable musical instruments, laptops, wheelchairs, light sports items (rackets, surfboards, golf equipment, petanque, etc.), children’s toys (except remote-controlled drones and other flying objects).
These objects must be intended for strictly personal or family use, and will be imported as luggage under the temporary admission regime, insists the Moroccan customs, specifying that they are exempt from a detailed declaration and must be re-exported during the beneficiary’s stay in Morocco or, failing that, will be subject to the payment of the due duties and taxes.
