Morocco Extends Tourism Sector Support Until March 2021 Amid COVID-19 Impact

Companies in the tourism sector affected by the effects of the coronavirus will continue to benefit from the support of the Moroccan state until March 2021. This is the result of an agreement signed between the National Confederation of Tourism, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Tourism.
These companies can breathe a sigh of relief. Indeed, this support was supposed to end in December, but it has been extended until March 2021. Thus, sector employees will continue to receive the sum of 2,000 DH representing the CNSS allowances financed by the Covid fund. This measure applies to companies whose turnover has decreased by at least 25%. The only obligation imposed on these companies is to preserve 80% of their staff. As for the payment of social security contributions, it has been postponed until the first quarter of next year.
