Morocco Extends Nationwide Health Emergency to July 10 Amid COVID-19 Concerns

The state of health emergency will be maintained throughout the national territory until July 10. The draft decree, submitted by the Minister of the Interior, was adopted at the Council of Government on Tuesday, June 9.
It is, reports Al Oumk, decree number 2.20.406, establishing the general provisions relating to the extension of the state of health emergency in the country, with the adoption of measures to ease the restrictions in force.
According to the explanatory memorandum of the draft law, "Due to the current epidemiological context which requires the maintenance of the necessary measures and provisions taken throughout the provinces and regions of the kingdom, this draft law aims to extend the state of health emergency throughout the national territory from Wednesday, June 10 at 6 p.m. to Friday, July 10, 2020 at the same time".
To this end, the law text authorizes the Minister of the Interior to adopt, depending on the available epidemiological data, the easing measures, in consultation with the various government authorities.
