Morocco Extends International Flight Ban Until July 10, Delaying Reopening Plans

Although it was expected on June 15, the date for the resumption of international flights is now known. The new Notam (message to air navigators) sets the resumption for July 10.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has extended for the fifth time the suspension of international air traffic until July 10, reports Le 360. According to airport sources, the publication of a new NOTAM does not mean that flights will resume as of the set date.
According to a manager of a handling company at Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca, a NOTAM is a technical indicator intended for all airport operators. It allows them to update and readjust their information systems. According to his explanations, "this indicator gives a little more visibility to airlines, handlers, catering operators, etc., in order to be able to ensure the continuity of the service".
For the time being, the Civil Aviation Authority and the Ministry of Tourism and Air Transport have not yet confirmed this upcoming resumption of international flights.
As for domestic flights, they can only resume after the lifting of the lockdown set for July 10. The majority of domestic routes are from the airports of Casablanca and Rabat, located in zone 2, within which travel restrictions will be maintained, at least until July 10.
