Morocco Extends Flight Ban to 39 Countries, Including France, Until May 21

Morocco has extended the suspension of air links with 39 countries, including France and Spain, until May 21. This measure aims to curb the spread of the coronavirus and its variants in the kingdom.
The Royal Air Maroc (RAM) airline has announced the continuation of the suspension of flights between Morocco and 39 countries. As a result, no plane will take off from Moroccan airports to Italy, Belgium, Turkey, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Sweden, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Algeria, Egypt, Poland, Norway, Finland, Greece, Lebanon, Kuwait, Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Cameroon, Croatia, Mozambique, Mali, Ghana, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea-Conakry, Libya, France and Spain.
However, with the authorization of the Moroccan authorities, the French and Spanish authorities are chartering special flights and ferries to repatriate their nationals. A ferry will repatriate the French this Friday. In total, more than 3,000 Spaniards or residents in Spain and nearly 4,000 French found themselves stranded in Morocco, after the suspension of air links.
Morocco could lift the state of health emergency on May 21 if the country’s epidemiological situation improves. Meanwhile, night travel nationwide is prohibited from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., except for exceptional cases from April 13, marking the start of the holy month.
