Morocco Extends COVID-19 State of Emergency Through July 31

Morocco has decided to extend the state of health emergency until the end of July, to deal with the prolongation of Covid-19 in the country.
Held under the chairmanship of the Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch, the Council of Government at its meeting on Thursday, June 23, decided to extend the duration of the state of health emergency throughout the national territory, from June 30 to July 31.
This decision is part of the efforts made by the authorities to fight the coronavirus epidemic. At the end of the session, the Minister in charge of Relations with Parliament, and government spokesman, Mustapha Baitas, declared during a press conference that the executive approved on Thursday the draft decree No. 2.22.448 on the state of emergency, presented by the Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit.
