Morocco expropriates property of the Algerian state

Aziz Akhannouch, the head of the Moroccan government, has signed a decision authorizing the expropriation by Morocco of property belonging to the Algerian state.
Towards new tensions between Rabat and Algiers? On the proposal of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and after consultation with the Ministry of the Interior, Aziz Akhannouch has signed a decision on the expropriation of several real estate and land properties belonging to the Algerian state, reports Maghreb Intelligence. This expropriation is justified by the need to expand the premises of services under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rabat.
A land property of 619 m2, another area of 630 m2 housing a two-story residence and offices on the ground floor, a villa of 491 m2 called "Villa of the Rising Sun", as well as three other large lots belonging to Moroccan nationals, villas mostly located in the Hassan district with respective areas of 1,149 m2, 547m2 and 542m2 are affected by this procedure, specifies the same source.
According to a notice published in the Official Bulletin of Legal Announcements dated March 13, the "persons concerned by this expropriation have two months to express their comments or object to this procedure."
