Morocco Expels Spanish Human Rights Delegation at Laâyoune Airport

Moroccan police expelled a forensic medical delegation that arrived in the city of Boujdour from Gran Canaria on Saturday from Laâyoune airport.
The delegation, composed of lawyers Ines Miranda and Flora Ramos, was expelled from Laâyoune airport by Moroccan police, EFE reports.
"They took us out of the line and separated us. They didn’t let us through. We told them we were here on a human rights mission with the approval of the United Nations and the Spanish government," Ines Miranda told EFE.
She added that they were then "pushed onto the plane," stating that they "will file a complaint for what happened."
Although Morocco never gives written orders for these expulsions, it generally justifies them later on the grounds that they are visits that take place "with an agenda hostile to Morocco" or because they have not been scheduled according to Moroccan authorities.
