Morocco Expels Italian Journalists Attempting Unauthorized Entry to Laayoune

Morocco expelled two Italian journalists on Sunday who were trying to enter the city of Laayoune without obtaining official authorization from the competent authorities.
Journalist Matteo Garavoglia and photographer Giovanni Colmoni were expelled by Moroccan authorities as they attempted to enter the city of Laayoune in a tourist car without completing the required formalities, according to sources at Hespress.
The two journalists were expelled by land in the same vehicle towards the city of Agadir, the same sources specify. Local authorities took the opportunity to insist on respect for national sovereignty and ensure that these expulsions are carried out in accordance with the texts in force.
According to the same sources, the two Italian journalists opted for the land route after unsuccessfully trying to access the city of Laayoune via Hassan I Airport. This shows their obstinacy in bypassing the legal procedures framing the visit of foreigners in the southern provinces of the kingdom.
