Morocco Expands Tourism Aid to Include Restaurant Industry Amid Border Closures

Moroccan tourist restaurateurs will also be taken into account in the emergency measures put in place for the tourism sector.
Long sought after by these players, the government’s support is finally granted to save the restaurant industry from total decline. They obtained it after a working meeting held on Tuesday with the supervising minister Fatima-Zahra Ammor, reports the MAP.
During this meeting, the heads of the group of regional associations of tourist restaurants described the difficult economic situation their sector has been going through since the closure of borders, says a statement from the ministry.
After several discussions, the minister committed to "integrating tourist restaurants into the most appropriate measures among the arsenal of measures that will benefit the tourism sector."
Sensitive to their cry of distress and especially to the picture painted by the heads of the regional associations of tourist restaurants, Ammor reiterated "her resolute commitment" to support the tourist restaurateurs in the current context.
Concretely, the sector will benefit from a set of emergency measures on the social, fiscal and banking fronts, the statement notes, noting that this project will allow restaurateurs to better meet the new expectations of national and international tourists.
