Morocco Expands Cannabis Regulation: New Measures for Cultivation and Licensing

Morocco has strengthened its legal arsenal relating to the legitimate uses of cannabis. Six new decisions were taken on Thursday, supplementing the law passed on the matter.
These new measures concern the method of issuing licenses related to the legitimate uses of this substance, the methods of harvesting and destroying impurities, the approval of seeds and plants, the declaration of damages and others and the process of issuing licenses.
This also includes the adoption of models of the cannabis crop sales contract, the delivery records of the mentioned crops and the registers for the destruction of cannabis production surpluses, its seeds, plants, crops and products.
The law now provides for the conditions and procedures for the approval of cannabis seeds and seedlings by the National Agency for the Regulation of Cannabis-Related Activities and specifies the forms of registers and the procedures for their issuance by the National Agency for the Regulation of Cannabis-Related Activities and the holders of cannabis-related licenses.
This arsenal also sets the Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) proportions provided for in Articles 6 and 17 of Law No. 13.21, relating to the legitimate uses of cannabis, as well as the procedures for declaring damages and losses that may affect cannabis crops.
