Morocco: exchange of live fire, four arrests near Al Hoceima

Four individuals have been arrested for their involvement in an exchange of live fire in Bni Bouayach, province of Al Hoceima. The investigation is ongoing to elucidate this case.

This recent incident has caused panic and fear among the residents, reports Assabah, commending the quick reaction of the competent security services to bring the situation under control.

Individuals on board a 4x4 off-road vehicle and others in a rental car in the province of Al Hoceima exchanged live fire, the daily recalls, informing that the driver of the rental car was arrested on the spot and referred to the competent prosecutor’s office, which ordered his detention in the local prison, pending the investigation.

According to sources cited by the newspaper, the defendant would be prosecuted for possession and use of a firearm without authorization, aggravated theft, attempted premeditated murder, drug trafficking and criminal conspiracy. Three other individuals were subsequently apprehended and referred to the competent prosecutor’s office, which decided to prosecute them in detention.

The investigation, conducted under the supervision of the investigating judge at the Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeal of Al Hoceima, is ongoing in order to identify and apprehend all persons directly or indirectly involved in this case.
