Tuesday 31 December 2019, by Ginette

The 17th national awareness campaign against violence against women ended last Thursday with a meeting organized in Salé by the Minister of Solidarity. During the meeting, Jamila El Moussali said that this campaign was able to reach 6 million young people thanks to the involvement of the public media.

Placed this year under the theme "The involvement of young people in the fight against violence against women and girls", the campaign took place from November 25 to December 20, 2019.

The minister was pleased with the many activities carried out and the involvement of all components of society in order to impact the largest number of young people. She particularly addressed congratulations to the imams who accompanied the campaign through sermons in nearly 24,000 mosques. Sermons focused on the risks and excesses of violence against women. At the time of the assessment, Jamila El Moussali also recalled the awareness campaigns that were organized in various schools on the subject of gender equality and the fight against violence, indicates Le Matin.

To all these activities, study days held in universities and higher institutes are added. Throughout the campaign, young people were actively involved in the awareness sessions. The approach, according to the Minister of Solidarity, is to establish a preventive culture that rejects violence in all its forms, reports the same source.
