Morocco’s Human Rights Council Launches Campaign to Combat Violence Against Women and Girls

As part of the "Global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence" campaign, the National Human Rights Council (CNDH) in Morocco launched on Wednesday, November 25 a campaign to ensure effective action against all forms of violence against women and girls. Through this initiative, the CNDH intends to deepen the reflection on the conditions of women and girls and reduce the violence they suffer.
The objective of the campaign launched by the Council is to determine how legal and institutional frameworks could help reduce violence against women and eliminate exclusion. It also aims to seek ways and means to empower women economically and ensure their access to health care, education and basic social services.
To succeed in its mission, the CNDH, through its regional committees, will launch consultations and workshops at the regional level, in strict compliance with the preventive measures imposed by the pandemic, in order to reflect, with experts and key stakeholders, on ways to sponsor those who have survived all kinds of violence.
From Wednesday, November 25 to December 10, the building of the National Human Rights Council will be lit in orange, a symbol of its commitment against violence against women and girls.
